| Summary: |
Vishnupuran is one of the most popular mythological TV serials from India. It is the story of Lord Vishnu, who in mans fight against evil, comes to earth time & again to maintain the balance between good & evil.
Vishnupuran covers the stories of the ten incarnations of Lord Vishnu the sustainer, namely , Matsya(horned fish), Kurma(Mighty turtle), Varaha(Fierce Boar), Narasimha(man-lion), Vamana(midget), Parasurama(angry sage), Rama(dutiful prince), Krishna(righteous cow herd), Buddha(compassionate sage) and Kalki(Messaih).
Episode 70
Devarshi Narad is asked to request Vishnu for his next avtar. Narad takes a severe penance which scares Lord Indra. He seeks Kaamdev's help in foiling Narads penance. Vishnu alerts Narad and Narad reprimands Kaamdeva, who begs for his forgiveness. Narad boasts of his victory to Vishnu. Vishnu resents Narad's arrogance. Narad visits King Sheel's kingdom and is struck by his daughters beauty. He asks Vishnu to make him the most desirable man, Lord Vishnu gives him the form of a monke. Unaware of his looks, Narad attends Swayamvar where the Princess finally selects Lord Vishnu. Narad is annoyed.
Epidose 71
Narad curses Vishnu that just as he is deprived of woman, Vishnu will also suffer the pains of separation and this very monkey face will help Vishnu in due course. Ravan's brother Vibhishan performs a yagna. Ravan stops him, but is worried and visits his mother who informs him that he is the son of a Rishi, but his mother is an Asur and so he has to conquer all three worlds.
Episode 72
Ravan's mother Kaikasi advises him to visit his brother Kumbhakarna for help. Kumbhakarna tells Ravan that they will have to worship Brahman and undertake penance. Ravan cuts his head and offers it to fire during the yagna. Brahma is stunned. Ravan cuts his head nice times and finally Brahma appears. Ravan asks for a boon that he should not be killed by any of the Gods. Rishi Vashishta conducts a yagna for King Dashrath. God appears with four cups of kheer. There three queens drink the kheer.
Episode 73
Vishnu informs Laxmi that the time has come for him to descend on earth. Brahma is elated at the destiny of Kuashalya's son. King Janak is upset that a golden plough has been made for him. Lord Vishnu asks Laxmi to become Janak's daughter and help him. Vishwamitra informs the rishi's that god is descending on earth.
Episode 74
Lord Ram is born and a pregnant Kaikayee comes to see him. The Gods are delighted and visit Dashrath's palace in disguises of rishi's to see Ram. On the other side, Ravan's son are being trained for warefare by Ravan's grandfather. Ravan along with Vibhishan and Kumbhakaran plan to defeat the gods. Ravan announces his attack on Devlok. Indra prepares to face Ravan. |
